Christmas In Boston
Boston's history, snowy weather and abundance of Christmas lights makes it a beautiful place to be over the holidays. Treat yourself to a fine meal in one of the city's many restaurants and take a walk afterwards under trees aglow with white lights.
Be prepared for Boston's weather with warm clothing and appropriate footwear. There are plenty of attractions, museums and historic sights to see while you're in the city.

Faneuil Hall Christmas Tree
The largest Christmas Tree in New England. While you're there, check out the shopping and dining in Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The 2016 Faneuil Hall Tree Lighting Is November 19th, 8:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m..
A light and sound show at Quincy Market (a.k.a. Faneuil Hall Marketplace). Performances begin nightly at 4:30 p.m. and run until 9:00 p.m.. November 19, 2016 - January 1, 2017. More info.
Boston Common Christmas Tree
This is Boston's official Christmas tree. Boston's Christmas tree is annual gift from Nova Scotia for assistance Boston provided following a deadly Halifax explosion in December of 1917.
The 2016 tree lighting ceremony is December 1st. In addition to the main tree, there are other trees lighted throughout Boston Common. You'll also find the Frog Pond Skating rink here on Boston Common, and there's a Skating Spectacular exhibition on tree-lighting night, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In Back Bay, starting at Public Gardens. Commonwealth Avenue Mall is a parkway with a wide grassy mall in the center, lined with trees and statuary. For the holidays, the trees along Commonwealth Avenue Mall are lit with white lights.
The Bost Common Frog Pond turns into a skating rink in the winter time. There are public skating hours daily beginning in November. The 2016 opening date for the skating rink has not yet been announced. More Information.

Boston Ballet Presents The Nutcracker
Enjoy Mikko Nissinen's re-imagined version on this holiday tradition. 2016 performance dates are November 25 - December 31. Performances are at the Boston Opera House. More Information.
You may have seen some of these concerts on television, or heard the recordings. The Holiday Pops concerts in Symphony Hall are wonderful entertainment. You'll enjoy beutifully performed holiday music - and you can participate in the traditional sing-along. 2016 Holiday Pops performance dates are November 30 - December 31. There are several opportunities to enjoy Handel's Messiah in Boston during the 2016 holiday season.The Handel + Hayden Society will hold their annual Messiah performances November 25, 26, & 27, Boston Barouque performs the piece December 9 & 10 at NEC's Jordon Hall, and The Trinity Choirs and orchestra perform the Advent and Christmas portions and Hallelujah Chorus at Trinity Church on December 4.

The annual Boston Tuba Christmas concert will be held on November 26, 2016 at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. This free concert is a holiday tradition and features Christmas music performed by over 150 tuba and euphonium players. Details.
